What is Haunted Hood

The “Haunted Hood Experience” is a unique initiative that combines community investment with a thematic, immersive experience. By leveraging the cultural narratives and urban legends that make up the “haunted” elements of Black communities, this project aims to create a captivating attraction while simultaneously pooling financial resources to build economic wealth within Black communities.

Abandoned Buildings

A walkthrough of dilapidated, abandoned structures filled with eerie sounds, flickering lights, and ghostly figures to create a sense of dread and history.

Drug Den

A simulation of a hidden drug den with actors portraying dealers and users, adding to the atmosphere of danger and suspense.

Street Performers

Creepy street performers, such as mimes and musicians, who suddenly come to life and interact with visitors in unsettling ways.

Witch Doctors and Healers

Scenes featuring mystical healers and witch doctors performing eerie rituals, invoking a sense of ancient, supernatural powers.

Urban Legends

Reenactments of popular urban legends and ghost stories that are specific to different Black communities, adding a local flavor to the scares.

Haunted School

A spooky, abandoned school building with ghostly children and teachers, echoing the past struggles and triumphs of Black education.

Car Jacking Scenes

Safe, controlled reenactments of carjackings that engage visitors, complete with sound and visual effects to immerse them in the moment.

Gangs Hanging Out on the Corner

Create scenes that depict groups of intimidating figures, with realistic sound effects and actors to enhance the experience.

Candyman

Incorporate iconic horror scenes inspired by "Candyman" to add a supernatural element, heightening the fear factor.

Underground Nightclub

A haunted underground nightclub where the music is eerie, and the patrons are ghostly figures trapped in an eternal party.

Cursed Playground

A haunted playground where the equipment seems to move on its own, and ghostly children invite visitors to play with them.

Hood Girls Trying to Bully People

Scenarios where visitors navigate encounters with tough, street-smart characters, emphasizing resilience and survival.
